Dear family of Joyce Hollstein,
We loved Joyce (& Herb) very much and counted them as very dear friends. In the summer of 1997 we asked them if they'd consider hosting a group of international students for a weekend at their cabin at Buffalo Pound Lake. They jumped at the idea and embraced it with their characteristic enthusiasm. So with the help of several other volunteers we took about 20 int'l students and professors over there for a fabulous time of boating, canoeing, volleyball, barbecuing, campfires, singalongs, etc. Most of those experiences were all brand new to those grateful students from all over the world - many from China. We asked Joyce & Herb if it would be okay to put up about 8 tents in their front yard for sleeping, and they didn't mind a bit even though it was kind of hard on their perfect grass! Joyce & Herb were delightful hosts, full of humour and fun, and they made everyone feel so welcome. They took a personal interest in many individual students and showed them love in many different ways. That weekend became a much anticipated annual event at the Hollstein cabin for six years in a row. Below is a photo from 2002; Joyce & Herb can be seen in the back row.
Our friendship with them extended to many other activities such as attending Regina Pats games together, and political rallies, but enough said!
We feel very thankful and blessed to have known their friendship and love! If there are cabins in heaven, they'll have a very nice one for sure! What we do know for sure is that there'll be some dear friends from other countries in heaven as a result of those weekend camps.
May God bless each and every one of you!
Love & prayers,
Stan & Mary Klassen

Dear Julie & Betty.
What good memories we have of enjoying the gift of hospitality Joyce and Herb so willingly shared with us and many others over the years. Their door was always open and we had many good times of food, prayer and fellowship in their home. As well, the two ladies, Joyce and her good friend Dolores, would join us in prayer times at our home. Those two LOVED spending time in worship and the presence of the Lord and what joy they released into the atmosphere, encouraging all to join in. Needless to say Joyce’s arrival in Heaven is a joyful reunion of loved ones gone before. We extend our condolences to each of you in the family as you will miss Mom & Grandma in your thoughts and gatherings. May you find the peace of God in your quiet times of reflection and faith to know you will meet again in Heaven. Thanks for the lovely gift of the photos you shared with us online, showing the full life Joyce was gifted with, now there for the generations to enjoy.
Sincerely, Peter & Trish Worby

Dear Julie, Betty & Jim, Darcy & Kimberley
We have many wonderful memories of your mom and dad. They were great friends, neighbours, and mentors. They are greatly missed on all 3 accounts.
Over the years, we had some very interesting discussions about Jesus, and life in general. We shared some heady times, but also some challenging times. That is what cements friendships.
Your dad was always Mr. Steady, the voice of reason. Your mom, on the other hand, was a bit of a firecracker, and added the colour to picture.
The Lord bless you and keep you safe in the days ahead. Our only regret is not being able to see you in person to renew friendships and give our condolences.
Love,
Todd & Diane
