Hi there; I've been thinking a lot about Mary since hearing of her passing. I'm so sorry for you loss; she was a force in our community and will be missed. As a new mom, Mary recognized very quickly that I was struggling to be at home with my baby as I'm a very social person. She immediately made the effort to invite me to play cards with their group weekly. She was patient in teaching me the game and eager to ensure that I was getting out and enjoying some socializing even if the age gap was quite large - ha! One year, we ended up on the same ladies curling team in league play. At the bonspiel that year, we rallied hard out of the C side on Sunday- the marathon Sunday, as they say! Top prize was purses for each lady and I was bound and determined we should win so we could get those purses! The semi final game was tight and we were tired!! Mary looked at me knowing my competitive nature, and said "How about we just lose, and I buy you a purse!"
Memories I will cherish. She will be missed.

Bob, Marlene, Donna and Douglas, My most sincere condolences. I know how difficult this is without the support of family and friends. Find comfort in each other and know that we are all thinking of you.
We curled, played cards, sat around a campfire and drank wine together. There was never a time that she didn’t make me laugh! Her stories and her inquisitive mind made her a unique friend whom I loved catching up with every time we met. Mary will be missed and my heart aches for you all.
