Josef will be lovingly remembered by his sons Josef and Jimmy; special granddaughter Atira Mihalicz; brother and sister-in-law Helmuth and Cacilia Lehmann; niece Susan (Dennis) Kuepher; along with numerous nieces and nephews in Canada and Austria. Josef was a proud, strong and loving man who was dedicated to his family and friends. He followed his future wife Juliana to Canada in 1954. Josef had journeyman bricklayer papers in hand hoping to carve out a comfortable life and start a family. He and Juliana wed in May 1954. Josef was a very talented bricklayer and stone mason. His legacy buildings are still standing across Saskatchewan today. Josef worked for many years at his craft however his family was growing so he decided it was time to get more year-round work and found that work at Ipsco Inc. He was also a founding member of the Austrian Canadian Edelweiss Club of Regina and spent time with his family and friends helping to build and support the Club as it was known. In those early days, he would sing, dance, play cards and revel with his wife and friends who also came from Austria. He was involved with sub group of the Club, The Osterreich Jagd & Fisch Verein Waldmannsheil until his passing. Josef was outspoken however always had your best interest at heart. He was very quick to tell about this proud Austrian heritage.
