Obituary of Gordon Douglas Williams

WILLIAMS, Gordon

With deep sadness, the family announces the passing of Gordon Williams on May 24, 2020 in his 90th year. Gordon was born and raised in Moose Jaw, SK and was predeceased by his parents Agnus and James Williams. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Marjorie and their children, Laura Williams (Pat Leibel), Edward, Tracy, and James (Regan), plus five grandchildren, Drew, Emmett, Emily, Michaela and Bailey.

Gordon’s career was with Sask Power Corporation in petroleum engineering, spanning over three decades in three different cities - Saskatoon, Prince Albert and Regina.   

Gordon's passion in life was golfing. In 2002 at age 72, he achieved his ultimate game, when he scored his age and 1 under par. Together, Gordon and Marge were acknowledged as 42 year members of the Wascana Golf Club. After retirement, they spent many winters in Phoenix, where golfing remained a priority.

His other passion was inspired by his eldest son Eddie, in initiating and helping oversee a work placement program at the Cosmopolitan Learning Centre. This program empowered so many of the clients and continues to flourish to this day.

He took great pleasure and interest in the lives of his family. You could also expect him to be at every concert and event of his grandchildren with pride and joy in his heart, including after, when he told everyone about them. 

The family thanks the Alain Blair Cancer Centre, Home Care/Palliative Care, and Dr. Stewart McMillian for their extraordinary care. A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
