Vincent Lachmi (Kumar)
It is with sadness that at the age of 77 years old Vincent Kumar will be lead to his final resting place on Wednesday May 27, 2020. A prayer of blessing will be shared by Greg Spencer of Bridge Four Square Church .
Vincent Kumar was born in Lautoka, Fiji on June 6, 1942 with loving parents (Late) Ram Pyari Moti and Gideon Kumar. He immigrated to Vancouver, Canada in 1968 and in 1980 moved to Regina.
Vincent is survived by siblings: Maya (Regina), Victor (Edm.), Pushpa (LA), Praful, Prakash (Aus). He has supported and brought many of his siblings to this country to make a better life for themselves. He has many cousins, uncles, aunts in Vancouver, Australia, NZ, and many nieces and nephews too numerous to mention, and also all over the world to which he has been a GREAT uncle to them all.
He is survived by his children Kamil Shubnam, Veniel Dev (Vancouver), Jan Michael, Adrien, Devon, Dylan, Vijay, Katelyn (Regina). He has five grandchildren.
In his early years he worked very hard, and a man who could make nothing into something. He touched many lives with his wisdom and advice and loved by many. He will be missed .
I am his daughter Kamil, his eldest, first born from his first marriage to my beautiful mom Tara Kumar and I speak of him before he went to Regina. What I can say of him is that he was a loving and strict father, full of knowledge and inquisitiveness about the new country around him. He was fun in these years: liked to play games, dance, and be around family and friends which gave him great pleasure. He started Martial Arts training in those years, and discipline was important to him. He became business minded looking beyond the horizon and not bound by limitations and challenges which he took head on full force sometimes. His love for knowledge, business, politics and going beyond societies limitations lead him to many places, adventures, and relationships. My Memory is that back then, his favorite personality... Mohammed Ali.. whilst he himself bravely fought racism in this country early 68 and later as a savvy hotel owner. His favorite book, Cosmology of the mind, which we used to talk about over and over ... to him there was more out there than we know and the minds strength can overcome all obstacles... and oh yes, let’s not omit he was quite the ladies man as well. If a man could charm his way through things it was him for sure. Great smile and laugh. I know he had passion and loved with his whole heart and wanted the best for those around him. so "In Prayer there is a mingling of station, a mingling of condition, Pray for Vincent Kumar as he does Pray for you" ...
