I had the honour and pleasure of serving with Roy in 3PPCLI, he was above all a character you where lucky to face adversity beside. Always ready with a good story, a steady and award winning pistol shot and in his early years a proud Canadian Army Boxing Champion. Rest in Peace Brother Roy, till the next RV! Roy and I were very good friends both in the P.P.C.L.I. and after service. The last time, Roy and I spent together with good food, drinks and "war stories" was in the Summer of 2000 in Saskatoon, SK.
After that time I attempted to contact Roy numerous times but to no avail. Roy was a good friend and Brother-in-Arms. RIP.

For the Roy Greyeyes Family -
This note is quite late to need, but I only found out about Roy Greyeyes's passing yesterday. I write to express the condolences of all Patricias on the loss of Roy Greyeyes. While I cannot remember meeting Roy, this is only because our service profiles did not intersect but once - and that was when he was in Cyprus, and I was an exchange officer with the neighbouring Third Battalion of our allied regiment, the Royal Green Jackets. I visited 3 PPCLI often. That is, of course, all a long time ago now. But the Regiment remembers Roy's service. His name will be read out this November in the reading of the fallen at the Sacred Space at Beechwood Cememetery, Ottawa, the National Military Cemetery. His name will also be published in the list of The Lost in that section of the 2020 edition of the regimental publication The Patrician.
We hope that Roy had a good life after his service, and that you were able to support him as you did during his service to Canada and the Regiment. Thank you to all who did.
Brigadier-General (Ret'd) Vince Kennedy
Colonel of the Regiment
Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry
