Obituary of Thomas Harold Leach

It is with deep sadness that we announce the death of our beloved father and husband, Tom Leach. Dad was born in the bush of Northern Ontario, the youngest of four sons and spent a happy childhood in Osaquan before the family took up farming in Dryden, Ontario. He completed high school there, and then began college, only to leave to join the armed forces and serve overseas in WWII. While serving in England, a mutual cousin introduced him to a pretty 16 year old, Peggy Weston. Their marriage in 1945; after 4 years of correspondence, proved to be a remarkable, loving union of almost 65 years, broken only by Peggys moving to the Santa Maria home in 2008. Toms career in the brewing industry spanned 30 years, and a later career in real estate also used his talent for meeting and making friends. Over the years he was involved with many community organizations, including Rotary International, Canadian Club, Horticultural Society, St. Georges Society, The Monarchist League, Regina Buffalo Days and the Regina Symphony. Tom is survived by his wife Peggy, son Mark and daughter Celia. He is predeceased by his daughter Susan, his brothers Herb, Kitch and Don. A Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 24, 2010 at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina with Rev. Derek Nicholls presiding. Mark and Celia wish to thank the staff and friends at Victoria Park Personal Care Community for the support and kindness they provided to Tom and Peg over the last three years. In lieu of flowers we ask that you plant some in your garden in Toms memory. An online book of condolences may be made at www.speersfuneralchapel.com.
