MARTIN, Ernest

Ernest Martin passed away peacefully on July 22, 2020 at the age of 99. Throughout this lifetime he was predeceased by: his wife Anne; daughters, Geraldine and Sharon Martin; son Gordon Martin; granddaughter Jenalle; son-in-law Dorian Hassard; his parents, Jim and Minnie Martin; brothers Harold (Bertha) Martin, and Erwin Martin; sisters, Violet (Max) Schaap, and Ruth Elliott. Ernest will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his brother Garry (Evelyn); daughters, Lillian Martin, and Bernice Hassard; daughter-in-law Vangy Martin; sister-in-law Rachel Martin; grandson Dustin (Shea) Hassard; granddaughter Adrienne Hassard; great grandchildren, Lauren and Evan Hassard, and Taylor (Ashley) Folk; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Dad worked at many jobs throughout his life. Before he retired, he worked 27 years for the Regina Public School Board. He was amazing at being able to repair anything and everything. He was also very good with renovations and fixing cars. Dad was a loving, easygoing, grateful man. He was the type of person who loved to hear from people and wanted to know about how they were doing in their life, especially his family. Dad’s mind was a sharp as a tack to the end – being an excellent story teller, especially about past history. A special thank you to Dad’s neighbours Bev and Max for all their help over the years. Special thanks to Home Care/Health Services for all they did for Dad the last 2 years. Also, sincere thanks to the staff on Ward 4B and 3A at Pasqua Hospital for their gentle and compassionate care. Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, July 27, 2020 at Christ Lutheran Church, 4825 Dewdney Avenue, Regina SK. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, seating will be limited.
