Obituary of Militza von Ledebur

MILITZA von LEDEBUR It is with great sadness that her family announces the peaceful passing of Militza, on Saturday, August 21, 2010 at the age of 96 in Regina. She was born July 3, 1914 in Pancevo, Banat, (Austria-Hungary, now Serbia), the only child of Dr. iur.gen. Dusan Radivojevic and Olga Krstic. Predeceased by her husband Dr. rer.nat. Karl-Heinrich von Ledebur, Militza will be lovingly remembered by her son Thomas (Lourdes), grandchildren Maxim, Cecie and Albert as well as European relatives-in-law Schicht, von Siemens and von Ledebur. Militza fluently spoke Serbian, Hungarian, German, French and lastly English, studied in Paris and Vienna, and Belgrade (Music Diploma, 1942). Mom and Dad married in 1950 in Belgrade, the family moved to Canada in 1957. They shared an interest in tennis, carpets and antiques, travelling through Canada, the USA and Europe. Militza was a long-time patron of the Regina Symphony and Wascana pool, and a member of the Orpheus Club and Registered Music Teachers. Dedicated to her students and her family, she taught piano at the Conservatory of Music and later in her beautiful College Avenue home until 2002 when illness forced her to move into Parkside Extendicare.
