Obituary of Sam Tschetter

Sam B. Tschetter

Sam went to be in the arms of our LORD on August 5, 2020.  He was born at Granum, Alberta and moved to Holt, Alberta in 1949.  There he became manager and moved to Belle Plaine in 1990. Dad loved farming, and he was the happiest during harvest. For many years, he drove a combine.  He instilled in his sons a love for the land and the Creator of it all.  He excelled at finances and business, which came naturally to him.

Sam was a husband, father, brother, and friend to many. He loved his LORD and had a compassionate heart for those in need.  He was a giver and always taught us it is more blessed to give than to receive. Most of his life was dedicated to caring for his community as a whole, never thinking only of himself.  Many times he would say to us, “Your actions with your fellow man will show your love for Christ.”  So he chose to serve.

Sam leaves to mourn his passing his wife of 44 years, Bertha.  Mom cared for Dad lovingly and with dedication whenever he was feeling unwell.  Many times he recovered, surprising us all, because Mom never left his side.  Sam will also be missed by his sons, Sammy (Dora), and  Jason (Tina); daughters, Karen (Dwayne) and Elaine (Darcy); and grandchildren, Casey, Winston and Lynzee.  These were a light and joy in his life.  Sam will also be remembered by numerous brothers and sisters, and brothers and sisters in law.

Dear LORD Jesus, thank you for the gift of having Dad in our lives these many years.  He taught us by example to humble ourselves in the sight of the LORD and to think of no man to be beneath us.  In the LORD’s eyes we are all precious.

It is hard for us to let go, but we could never deny you the joys of heaven.  We’ll love you always.
From, your family.
