Obituary of Stanton Dale Ewert

Stanton (Stan) Dale Ewert, late of Regina passed away peacefully on June 23rd at the age of 90. Predeceased by his parents, Mary and Leonard and his sister Elsie, he is survived by his wife Doris, daughter Kelly (Marcel) Champagne, son Rob (Dawn) Ewert and grandchildren, Nick Champagne, Chelsea (Mitch) Champagne and Anya Ewert as well as great-granddaughter Peyton Todd. Stan was born in Herbert SK, and from an early age took a keen interest in radio, attaining his amateur radio license and call sign VE5SC at the age of 12. He attended school in Vancouver to become a radio operator securing a position on Cape St. James, BC radioing weather forecasts to the mainland. He returned to the prairies and worked in technical maintenance at CBC radio in Regina for 37 years before retiring in 1991. Stan enjoyed his ham radio field days, camping and time spent with family.
