KING, Wayne

1955 – 2023

Andrew Wayne King was born May 5, 1955, eldest child of Kenneth and Caroline King of Semans, SK. After graduation, Wayne went to Kelsey Institute of Applied Arts and Science in Saskatoon and studied heavy duty mechanics. Upon completion of his course, he took over the family farm and married Cheryl (Macomber). Together they had three children, Derek, Colette and Christine and worked together on the farm for 25 years. While farming, Wayne also worked winters as a welder for Bergins Mfg. in Drake. For many years he also owned his own satellite installation business. Over the winter’s months, Wayne found his passion for doing tax returns with H&R block, something he continued to do out of his home with his long-standing clients until his final season.  For the last few years, he worked for Canada Cartage driving semi, a perfect fit with his farming background. In 2013 he married Aiping (Zhang) and was able to spend a few years happy years together with her here in Regina.

Wayne King passed away peacefully in his home on July 7, 2023 age the age of 68 due to complications from his COPD. Wayne was predeceased by his Father Kenneth King and leaves his memories behind to be cherished by his Mother, Caroline King; Wife Aiping Zhang and daughter, Daisy; Sister, Carole Reay (Willy); Mother of his children, Cheryl King; Children, Derek King (Eve), Colette Aabol (Kevin) and Christine Stinson (Steve); Nieces, Angela and Chelsi Reay; along with his grandchildren, Violet, Danika, Patrick, Oceania, Solluna and Latalia; and many close friends.

Wayne leaves us with many memories and laughs.  A kind and gentle soul, you will be missed.
