Obituary of Robert Samuel Hockings

It is with deep sorrow and profound sadness that we announce the passing of our husband, father, grandfather and special friend, Robert (Bob) Hockings on August 18, 2023. Bob was born and raised in Regina. He spent his entire life supporting, loving and helping family and friends. Family meant everything to Bob and he cherished every moment he was able to enjoy seeing his children and grandchildren grow to the amazing young people they are today.

Bob enjoyed travelling and every year we planned at least two major trips, one exploring the world and one relaxing with friends in Mexico. He enjoyed curling, golfing, football, playing bridge and socializing with friends. Bob served as the Master Bonspiel President for many years. He also served on the Telephone Pioneers Pension Association Board since its inception in 1996. Bob spent more than 33 years working at SaskTel in many capacities from the test desk solving problems to Vice President of Marketing for SaskTel International.

Bob was predeceased by his parents, Amelia and Sam Hockings and his brother Don. He will be mourned by his wife, Janice; children Alana (Fred), Wendy (John), Susan (Paul) and Jorden; grandchildren Damon (Keri-Lee), Matthew (Victoria), Rachelle (Michael), Roz and Stephen; and great-granddaughters Paxton and Lux. Bob also leaves behind his brothers, Doug Luttervelt, Doug Bradley, Sam Hockings (Jannet) and numerous nieces and nephews to mourn his passing.

A Traditional Service officiated by Sharon Lowe will take place at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue on Friday, August 25, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. followed by his Interment at Riverside Memorial Park Cemetery, 815 Assiniboine Avenue East, Regina, SK. The family asks family and friends to attend a luncheon after interment at Speers Family Centre, 2333 College Avenue, Regina, SK.
