Geneva Heglin

Obituary of Geneva Sharon Heglin

It is with profound sadness that the family of Geneva Sharon Heglin announces her passing on Thursday, August 24, 2023, after an enormously courageous 26-month battle with Breast Cancer.

Geneva was born on June 7, 1986, in Regina, SK. She attended Sheldon Williams Collegiate where afterwards she successfully tried her hand at many different occupations, all of which eventually led her to her ISC family, whom she loved and cared for dearly. Geneva had also successfully started her own business, Embrace Your Space.

Geneva found the love of her life Chris Heglin, and they married in 2019. Together they raised an amazing, beautiful daughter, Isabel Heglin, who will always be Geneva’s entire world. Geneva’s life was always spent loving and caring for her community, through her heartfelt volunteer work and generous donations to those in need. She will be remembered most for the love, passion, courage, and humor that she instilled in each and every person whom she shared her life with. Geneva left behind so many loving and long-lasting friendships, that will forever be held in her regard. Geneva’s presence around us all will be so sorely missed.

Geneva was predeceased by her grandparents George and Alison Donison; grandfather Eugene Gazda; aunts Sharon Gazda and Norma Jean Gosselin; uncles Wayne Dubois and Bob Lane; and cousins Bobby, Cory, and Jo-Ann. Geneva leaves behind her loving husband Chris; daughter Isabel; grandmother Mary Gazda; mother and father Georgie and Doug Gazda; brother Levon Gazda (Crystal Kirsch); mother and father-in-law Margo and Gary Heglin; sister-in-law Stephanie Heglin (Graham Richardson); as well as many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends whom she loved dearly. The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the numerous incredible Nurses, Doctors, Therapists, Staff, and Friends that each took such great care of Geneva throughout her journey. “Not a day will go by on this earth, where your family and friends won’t love and miss you, G.”

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Caledonian Curling Club, 2225 Sandra Schmirler Way, Regina, SK on Thursday, August 31, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. The family welcomes guests to join them for a Reception at 6:00 p.m. at the Caledonian Curling Club.
