Obituary of Charlotte "Lottie" Mary Emma Kreutzer

CHARLOTTE “LOTTIE” MARY EMMA KREUTZER

Lottie passed away peacefully at Providence Place Care Home, Moose Jaw, SK on Sunday, January 21, 2018. She is now with her Lord at the age of 101 years. Lottie was predeceased by her husband Reinhold Kreutzer; parents, Eric and Elizabeth Von der Heyde; daughter Beverly Lozinsky; grandson Stephen Lozinsky; sister Cecilia (Cis) Earl; and brother Eric Von der Heyde. Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Harvey (Edna), Terry (Dolores), and Dennis (Judy); daughters, Debbie (Dave) Pillipow and Wendy (Patrick) McIntyre; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-nine great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren; sister Adelaide (Heidi) Campbell; sister-in-law Pearl Kreutzer; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Mom was born in Veregin, SK on December 19, 1916 and grew up on the family farm. It was here that she developed a passion for baseball and track and field. In her short track and field career, she received both Provincial and Canadian Championship Titles in the hurdles event. In 1936, she married Reinhold and lived on the Kreutzer family farm for approximately 21 years. In 1964, they purchased and operated the Goodeve Hotel for 11 years. After they sold the hotel business, they enjoyed their summers managing the Craik Regional Park as well as the York Regional Park, until dad’s passing in 1980. She spent her senior years in the Lipton Senior Lodge with her brother Eric and then moved to Moose Jaw when she needed more care. Mom loved her family deeply and thoroughly enjoyed spending time with them as well as with friends. She will lovingly be remembered for her dedication to family, as a great cook, and for her enjoyment of people and social activities. Mom will never be forgotten for her kind heart, warm and giving nature. She had a sharp sense of humour that stayed with her until her final days. Her family will forever love and miss her always. Lottie’s family wish to thank Providence Place staff for their compassion and excellent care. Memorial Service will be held at Living Christ Lutheran Church in Lipton, SK on Saturday, January 27, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Donald Koch officiating. Interment in Lipton Memorial Gardens. Lunch to follow at Lipton Town Hall.
