I have been thinking of all of you these past few months and how hard saying goodbye has been. For all the pain that you and she have endured I am truly sorry. Auntie was the glue and the light of your family and I can only imagine how much you all must be missing her. She was honestly the prettiest, the kindest, the sweetest, and the strongest all rolled into one. Growing up I always looked forward to seeing her as she always listened, laughed easily, teased your Dad, would get angry (not really) with your Dad, and she always made me feel special even though she had so many nieces and nephews, not to mention her own family! She took such great care of everyone, Oma and Opa, her siblings, and her family back then, and then her grands and great grands as we all grew up. Family has always been her priority, she was and is always so proud of all of you for who you are, as great moms are. An amazing cook, a terrific sister, a thoughtful Auntie with an amazing memory ,a fun shopper :) Woolco and Sears off we would go( that was a long time ago...), a reluctant traveller, but game for almost anything with Uncle Louie! I am sorry I wasn't able to come say good bye or come to the service but I hope you know that I will be thinking of you, having a glass of wine to toast Auntie Lydia, as well as sending you love and strength. Love and Hugs, Tammy

We are deeply saddened to hear of Lydia’s loss from cancer. Our hearts and prayers go out to all of you. As European immigrants to Canada, we all were a close community in the early days. Our families grew and our young children played together. We always loved getting together with Lydia and Louie and the girls (Darinka and Milly) would babysit Danila when needed. Ivan retired and sold the shop on Quebec Street to Louie opening it as A&C Blacksmith. Lydia was a beautiful loving and welcoming soul, hard-working and very much loved family. She will be greatly missed by all of us who knew her. We all have our own precious memories of Lydia and Louie, and now they are back together. Unfortunately, with the COVID, we can only express our deepest sympathies without seeing you. May your special memories be your comfort; being with you forever. God bless all of you!
