Obituary of Mary Lou Novak
NOVAK, Mary Lou
Mary Lou passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 11, 2020 at home with her husband, Bob, at her side; it was their 68th wedding anniversary. Mary Lou lived nearly 90 joyous years. She was predeceased by her parents Mary and William Drew; her sister Marnie (Eric); brother Ernie; and sister-in-law Eleanor. Bob grieves along with their six children and their families; Angela and Ghislain (Michael, Jon, Jacqui), Gary (Jennifer, Kevin), Donna and Randy, Dave and Celine (Kelcie, Cole), Joe and Sandy (Landon, Kira, Leah), Rosanne (Alison, Jackson); spouses of the grandchildren; her ten great-grandchildren that she adored; brother Jack (Gaylene); sister Maureen (Wilf); sister-in-law Marie; and many nieces and nephews. She and Bob raised their family on a farm south of Regina, SK. Church was always an integral part of their lives. Mary Lou had many talents; she was a phenomenal artist (oil, watercolor, pencil), she loved sewing, knitting, crocheting, needlepoint and quilting. We are all fortunate to have her works of art to wear, keep us warm or adorn our walls. She was a talented cook and had a green thumb in her garden. Mary Lou’s strong work ethic was demonstrated by many things including her many years as the office manager at Santa Maria. With all this, she always made family her priority. Honesty and integrity were principles she lived by, we will never find a more compassionate, humble and gentle person ... adoring grandchildren and great-grandchildren can attest to this. Special thanks to Anna and all the homecare staff that provided Mary Lou with love and care for nearly two years. A private family service will be held on Saturday, October 17, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. To view the livestream of the service please click on the link to Speers TV at the top of Mary Lou's Tribute Page. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the charity of choice.
