Obituary of Jeane Buyze
BUYZE, Zwaantien “Jeane”
On Friday October 30, 2020, Zwaantien “Jeane” Buyze passed away at the age of 95 years in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada. Zwaantien was born in Holland on October 14, 1925. In Holland, she loved working with children at an orphanage, studied psychology, and had aspirations of being a judge, however after the Nazi occupation of Holland she immigrated with her family to Canada where she met her loving husband Jaspert. Zwaantien was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother, and a devout Christian as a lifelong member of First Baptist Church in Regina. Her passions and interests included being a highly creative seamstress, accomplished horticulturist, European cyclist, global traveler, avid reader in exploring varied emotional and intellectual perspectives on the human experience and the world, art lover of Vincent Van Gogh and Rembrandt van Rijn, and music lover of her husband singing classic Christian hymns, in addition to delighting in the music of Josh Groban, Andrea Bocelli, and Michael Bublé. Zwaantien greatly enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and felt blessed when she recently became a great-grandmother. Until her last days, she was full of life with fresh flowers in her home, always grateful for her life, and lived independently in her own apartment. May her beautiful spirit and soul rest in peace, and her memory be a blessing to all. She was predeceased by her parents; and her husband Jaspert Pieter (Jack) Buyze. Zwaantien, “Jeane” is lovingly remembered by her daughters Jane and Sandy (Dave); her son David (Sandra); grandchildren Kurtis (Kelly), Olivia (David), Grace (Pete) and Kaleb; her great-grandson Hunter; her brother Hendrik (Darlene); her sister Anneke; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other family, and very close friends across generations. Graveside Service will be held at Riverside Memorial Park on Saturday, November 7, 2020 with Rev. Joel Russell-MacLean officiating. Please meet at the gate by 2:15 p.m. if you would like to attend the graveside service. We will sing some hymns of praise, please dress warmly. A memorial service will also be held virtually on Zoom.
