Our condolences to the family for their loss. Both Maxyne and Phil were heavily involved as faith leaders in St Matthew Anglican Church for decades. They always participated in special worships and events - always volunteering to help. As I recall Phil was dedicated to our music ministry and Maxyne fellowship.
May the family always carry wonderful memories of those lost to them.
Peace
Mae Boa

We were lucky to be neighbours of Maxyne and Phil on 29th Ave in the early 2000s. As new, young homeowners we appreciated their check-ins, chats over the fence and the ways they warmly welcomed us to their established neighbourhood network. We admired their sense of adventure, passion for sailing and the ways they contributed to community, both big and small. We continued to catch up with Maxyne at different events over the years. We are grateful for the chance to have known them both. Thinking of you all during this time.

So sorry to hear this news. Our memory of Maxine and Phil are many. Maxine yelling “Trim for speed” or “Trim for course” and beating most of us younger sailors. Maxine knitting at the LDYC meeting and the click of the needles emphasized her response to certain comments. The many ‘Captain Crunch’ and other awards at the LDYC meetings! But our most fun memory was one party night on B dock and Maxine with a cigarette and drink in hand sauntered up to Jeff and got him jiving with her on the dock and then did a FLIP over his arm!!! Wow!!! Maxine was FUN!!!

My deepest condolences for your family. A Mother is with us always, first in her lifetime, then in our memory. Hold tight your memories.

Gone but certainly not forgotten. We have so many wonderful memories - sailing, skiing, our home Renos... Max and Phil will be happy together again.

Dear Karen and family ... I met your Mom when she was still actively sailing and I was so inspired by her, Phil and of course their boat! That first race was so memorable, and Maxine topped off the day with drinks, appetizers and a tour of Ecstasy. It was a perfect day at Lake Diefenbaker. I will miss and remember Maxine as a great host and a vibrant, funny lady. Lora and I extend our deepest sympathies to you.
