I was the coordinator for Saskatchewan Seniors inc. with the Silton Sunshine club and Bethune 50 plus club.
Peg was very active in the organization and we would exchange dinner parties with Silton, we would gather and have a beautiful dinner and sing song organized by Peg who would lead our sing along. I would chat with her on occasion while she resided at the Bentley. I joined her at her 90th birthday in Bethune and I would like to express my deepest condolences to her family .

Auntie Peg was a beautiful person, always smiling, always warm and welcoming, active and interested in everything. A favourite person from my childhood. She had a long and fruitful life and brought light to many hearts.

I write to extend my condolences and the condolences of the entire Nugent family and our Aunt, Anne Metz, to Peg’s son Doug, Peg ‘s family, and her many good friends.
We have spent the Christmas season this year reflecting upon Peg’s life and being thankful that we knew her.
Peg was a delight. One would be hard-pressed to find a more kind, generous and caring friend or neighbour than Peg. She had a smile that was infectious, eyes that always seemed to twinkle, and a very rare gift -- the ability to bring a feeling of true joy wherever she went.
Peg was a member of an informal ‘club of friends’ in the Dilke area known as ‘the Birthday Girls’. Other members of the club included Anne Metz, Marie Nugent, Lil McArton, Margaret Belcher, Winnie Horn and Mary Bachman. The ‘Girls’ would gather as friends to celebrate one another’s birthdays each year. Peg’s passing leaves Anne Metz as the last surviving member of the club.
In her final days Peg gave instructions that a Christmas ornament from Peg’s collection be delivered to Anne. The ornament bears an inscription that reads: “Best friends bring sunshine to each day”. Peg truly lived by that motto. She brought sunshine each and every day to her friends and to all that she knew. Anne feels blessed to have counted Peg as a friend and Peg’s ornament is now proudly displayed on Anne’s Christmas tree.
Peg was a remarkable woman. She will be missed and she will be remembered.
The Irish have a saying:
Those we love don’t go away
They walk beside us every day
Unseen, unheard but always near
Still loved, still missed and very dear.
Our hope is that Peg’s family and her many friends may find comfort in the memories of a long, well-lived life and the knowledge that Peg is now: in a better place; re-united with Jack; and doing her very best to help spread some of her ‘trademark sunshine’ to those around her in heaven above.

Peg was a sweetheart. My mom played tile rummy with her and I remember playing pool with her. We laughed alot and enjoyed playing a couple games. Of course, she won. I will miss her when I visit. Our deepest sympathy in her passing.

Doug and family, I am so sorry to read of Peg's passing. Having never met your Mom, I have to think she was truly a giving and loving person as she raised a loving and giving son.
Cherish her memories. You and Leslie and family are in my thoughts.
Best regards, Hazel George

Aunt Peg was an amazing lady. Her zest for life and kind heart shone bright. She always had something witty to say and had a great sense of humor. When we would go to visit she always would tell us of her fondest memory of Randy. Yes we had heard this story numerous times, but the twinkle in her eyes and the biggest smile on her face was priceless. Now that is a fond memory that we will have for the rest of our lives. She maybe gone from earth, but the impact she made on people's lives will live on forever.

Doug and family, Peg was a very special lady. From when I was a young girl, she was always involved (or leading) important events in our lives. From leading the junior choir, playing for the senior choir, teaching Sunday School, leading Explores, CGIT, and organizing teas - Peg was always there! Then later in our lives she kept in touch and we had quite a few opportunities to visit and reminisce. God Bless her! She was definitely a very special lady and she will be missed. My heartfelt condolences to your family. Maylyn Bast
