Pete’s family. I am so sorry to hear of his passing. Last winter we had many walks on the beach. Then in July he told me he had cancer. Went into Regina and had breakfast with him in October. Always smiling and joking around. Had a talk with him in January by hotmail and he so wished he could be in Mazatlan for even a week. He was a dear friend. Will always in my mind see him and Al together on the beach

Peter, you made my teenage years a safe and fun place , full of laughter and lenience as Alana and I spread our wings. You taught me how to drive your standard little Honda Civic around the hood when I was 16 (only drove a stick shift from then on), you coloured my hair for the very first time at your kitchen table, you and Al kept the freezer loaded with egg rolls and those cheese cake vanilla wafer things for our late night food raids. Never told us to ‘turn it down’! You did my hair on my wedding day too.
I was so grateful to see you in April when I was in Regina. You came to dinner with an egg roll in your coat pocket for me. You were a one and only. I will remember that visit forever.
Alana, thank you for your dedication to helping Peter have the best end possible. Thank you for a really wonderful send off at the funeral. You were lucky to be family, but also to be the best of friends.
All my love, Andy

Our condolences to Pete’s family and Sylvia. He was as good of a neighbour as anyone could have - always doing things just because and keeping the neighbourhood vibrant! We’ll miss his daily presence but his spirit lives on here.

Pete was one of a kind. I was one of his first customers when he opened Wavelengths. He always had coffee & jokes when we went in. He did both my kid's first haircuts & told me I was pregnant before I even knew (apparently perms don't take well when you're pregnant) and he never let me forget. After all the grief we gave him about not having a debit machine, my husband was the first one who used it and Pete framed the receipt & hung it on the wall with all the other important documents. He was funny & kind, we are going to miss him. Our condolences to his family & all his friends, especially Sylvia.

To the Bells, the Shearers the Racettes and Sylvia, our condolences. Pete was an old friend of mine (50+yrs) and Sonja's, we will miss him and his humour and laughter. I have so many fond memories of him, all the way back to Elementary school. He was the only boy I ever chased, never caught him either! Seriously though I can say for many years we were inseparable, and literally grew up together. Many adventures with Ron Degleau and Mickey too. Pete had a good heart and was generous and caring. He will be missed. I'm thinking of all of you and sending hugs.

To the Bell And Shearer Family‘s and to you Syl.
Please know you are in my thoughts and have my deepest sympathies.
My time with Pete goes way back to his first shop Touch of Magic where I first met him. I have been a customer since. He had a very magnetic personality. His humour usually had us both laughing through my many haircuts. Over the years Pete would tell me stories of his and Al’s trips to Mazatlán. Oh how they both cherished their time there. My partner and I started to travel to Mazatlán about 13 years ago and we enjoyed many many meals and Happy Hours with he and Al. And the haircuts continued even when on Vacation. Pete had a heart of gold. He loved his shop he loved his His family, his clientele and he loved the many friends he made in Mexico and was a good friend to all. I will miss my friend tremendously at home in Regina and in Mazatlán. Life just won’t be the same without you, Pedro. RIP my friend.

Our condolences to Pete’s family and friends. Many moons ago my Mom used to go to the salon, and Pete always had a smile and something nice to say, even to us kids. May his memory be a blessing to you. Tasha, Tyra, and Ivan.
