Obituary of Blaine Jerome Skelton
SKELTON - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Blaine Jerome Skelton, on October 14th, 2007 at the age of 66. Blaine is survived by his mother (Eileen), his two brothers, Garry (Helene), and Monte (Peggy); as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. Blaine was predeceased by his Father Gordon, Skelton of Briercrest Sask. Blaine joined the RCMP in 1961 and was stationed in various points in Saskatchewan and British Columbia attaining the rank of Corporal with his last posting in Regina in the Commercial Crime Section, retiring in 1993. Blaine was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Briercrest and was a Mason for approximately 35 years. Blaine was an avid skier and through the Regina Ski Club volunteered his time with the youth of Regina. Blaine had a great love of the great outdoors. He loved to garden and grow flowers in his back yard, especially gladiolus and tulips, which he shared with friends and various businesses in Regina. In his latter years he spent many enjoyable hours at Grandview Beach on Last Mountain Lake building a water front cabin, or breakfasts with the gang at the Normanview Dairy Queen. Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel at the RCMP Training Academy, Dewdney Avenue West, on Thursday, October 18, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Des Patton officiating. Interment will take place in the Columbarium at the RCMP Cemetery. For family and friends so wishing, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 1910 McIntyre Street, Regina S4P 2R3.
