Obituary of Warren William Haacke

WARREN WILLIAM HAACKE February 9, 1928 - May 29, 2013 Warren William Haacke (M.Ed), born February 9, 1928 near Jedburgh, SK, died May 29, 2013 with the love of family and friends surrounding him. He was predeceased by his wife Ella Noriene Haacke (Turner); parents, Lillian Eckert and William Haacke; and sisters, Shirley Anderson and Joyce Clouston. Warren is survived by his son Brian (Susan) Haacke; grandsons Adam and Matthew Haacke of Regina; brother Kelvin (Bernita) Haacke of Calgary; stepsister Bernice (Robert) Moore of Nelson, BC; stepbrother Robert (Margaret) of Yorkton; stepmother Doris Haacke of Yorkton; sisters-in-law Doreen (Howard) Hetterly and Lorraine Kzonsenza of Regina; and numerous relatives and friends. Warren retired in 1982 as Principal, Cochrane High School and served in several schools within Regina, as well as in Germany, Stockholm, Yorkton, Kamsack and other points in SK. After retirement, Warren taught for five years with the Faculty of Education, University of Regina. Warren devoted his life to learning and strongly upheld the value of education: he was often thanked for helping people to achieve their dreams. Many enjoyed Warren’s zest for life, his passion for music, and his ability to face adversity with courage and determination. Thank you to all who provided support, love and care to Warren since his stroke in 2001: your kindness will always be appreciated. A Celebration of Warren’s life will be held at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina on Thursday June 6, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. with The Very Reverend Mike Sinclair officiating.
