To all of Steve's family,
How saddened I was to hear of Steve's passing. He was far too young to leave his family.I am keeping you all close to my heart and in my prayers. It was a pleasure to get to know Steve all over again as an adult when we taught together at Campbell. I know he was so highly regarded as a teacher and students felt fortunate to be in his class. Take care of each other, celebrate his life and draw upon the strength of those around you who share your loss.
With greatest affection,
Roma

We were shocked and saddened to see Steve's obituary in the Sat. paper. I have many fond memories of teaching with Steve at Sheldon. We enjoyed the family get togethers we had when our children were young. Sometimes life seems unfair.
One of my memories of Steve that I still share with friends happened when our families went to Wascana Park one afternoon. It seemed odd to us that Steve threw a baseball with one hand and the football with the other. He said it was because he had his right arm in a sling when he got his first football so he had to throw it with his left hand and he continued this after his right arm got better.
Deepest sympathy to all of you. Bruce and Diane Hern

I'm sorry to hear of your loss. Steve was my teach in 1980-81 and he was terrific! Clearly, at that time of his career and life, it was evident Steve was a bright light with a passion for teaching.
