I never knew that when I was working my first job at the Canada Permament Mortgage Corporation back in 1958 and when I used to eat the odd meal at the Top Hat Resturarant which was run by John & Helen Lockwood, that one day I would be standing side by side with John and both of us receiving our 50 year long service pins from Wascana Lodge No 2 in 2011. John twisted my arm to let my name stand and be elected as the District Depluty Grand Master for District No 2 in 2003. As many of the lodge brethren said, he was crusty, but his heart was in Masonry.
