Obituary of John Lockwood

JOHN LOCKWOOD June 20, 1925 - July 19, 2013 John passed away on Friday, July 19, 2013 in the Pasqua Hospital at the age of 88. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 51 years, Helen; his parents; and his five siblings. John is survived and will be remembered by several nieces and nephews; as well as many good neighbours and friends. He was raised on the family farm in Manitoba and at age 16 enlisted in the Army and served overseas in WWII. Following two years working in England, he moved to Regina where he spent the rest of his life. John established himself as a talented builder and businessman. He was a member of the Shrine, a member of Wascana Lodge No. 2 A.E. & A.M. and served as President of Regina Masonic Temple Company for many years. His love of curling took him travelling with Helen to many World Championships in Canada and Europe. As well, he was an enthusiastic Saskatchewan Roughrider and Toronto Blue Jays fan. He was a proud Canadian. The family would like to express our appreciation to the staff of 4A Pasqua Hospital as well as Dr. M. Cameron and Dr. A. Abuhjar for their thoughtful care. A Celebration of John’s Life will be held on Thursday, July 25, 2013 at Speers Family Centre, 2333 Cornwall St. from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. Private family interment.
