Predeceased by her father, mother, and five siblings, she is survived by her beloved husband of 50 years, Gerry; numerous nieces and nephews; and sister-in-law and brother-in-law Marg and Tom Molyneux. Born and raised in Dysart, SK, Chess received her schooling in Dysart and went on to graduate from the Grey Nuns School of Nursing in 1952. She was employed at the Grey Nuns / Pasqua Hospital as a staff nurse and eventually the Head Nurse in the Emergency Department, progressing to a Supervisory position in Emergency, ICU/CCU and the OR. Chess dedicated her career to the health profession, retiring from the Plains Health Centre in 1986 where she was employed as the Employee Health Nurse.
