Obituary of Leo Wayne Gerald Deters

LEO WAYNE GERALD DETERS Leo, born April 1, 1948 in Regina, SK, passed away on Tuesday, October 22, 2013 at Wascana Rehabilitation Centre the age of 65 years. He lived near Riceton, SK and farmed the majority of his life near Riceton and Francis. Leo was predeceased by his parents, Gerald (1965) and Lillian (nee Simmons, 1979); brother-in-law Henry Deschner (1967); sister Geraldine Deschner (1989); brother Richard (1994); and great-nephew baby Michael (2001). He leaves to mourn, his loving wife of 37 years, Alvina (nee Trevena); sister Arvena Sproat; sister-in-law Marilyn Deters; seven nieces and nephews, Craig (Meridell), Regan, Deanne (Terry), Kelly (Lorelei), Sharon (Grant), Darren (Cheryl) and Heather (Derek); several great-nieces and nephews; many cousins, friends and extended family; as well as his favorite golden pal, Maggie. A very special thanks to his Wascana Rehab family and the staff of unit 2-6 at Wascana Rehabilitation Centre, where Leo lived for the last twelve years. Memorial Service will be held at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina, SK on Saturday, October 26, 2013 at 3:30 p.m. Interment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Leo, may be made to Unit 2-6 Wascana Rehabilitation Centre, 2180 – 23rd Avenue, Regina, SK, S4S 0A5.
