Obituary of David Scott Carmichael

DAVID SCOTT CARMICHAEL Perhaps the stars in the sky, are loved ones letting us know they are near, by guiding through the night. It is with profound sadness I announce the passing of my best friend, soul mate, husband, David Scott Carmichael on Thursday, December 12, 2013. Our Cancer Journey began October 31, 2013 after returning home from our well-planned and anticipated honeymoon in France. Our adventure was everything we dreamed of and more. Climbing the spiral stairs to the top of the Arc de Triomphe; strolling the Champs Elysees. There wasn’t a metro we didn’t ride; a site in Paris we didn’t see; our tour of Normandy, Caen and Juno Beach reinstated the importance of peace. Our amazing sun-filled days in Avignon, was like being in a “chick” flick. Our time together was fast-tracked compared to other couples, yet filled with love and commitment to last a lifetime. David was predeceased by his father Jack. He will be lovingly remembered by the love of his life, Margaret; his three stepchildren, Teresa (Blake and Ryder); Bryan (Kourtney) and Monica (Carter); his mother Eileen; sisters, Vivian, Marion (Barry) and Laurie (Daryl); numerous nieces and nephews and his Uncle Les. David was a dedicated (36 ¾ years) employee with SaskPower; as well as a licensed Lay Minister with the United Church of Canada. A Memorial Service will be held at Eastside United Church, 3018 Doan Drive, Regina, SK on Tuesday, December 17, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. with Russell Mitchell-Walker, officiating Minister. A private interment will be held at a later date when the harshness of winter has passed. Memorial Donations can be made to Indian Metis Christian Fellowship, Attention: Bert Adema, 3131 Dewdney Avenue, Regina, SK S4T 0Y5 or to the Regina Wascana Grace Hospice, 50 Angus Road, Regina, SK S4R 8P6.
