Such a sweet and gentle man. My husband, photographer Courtney Milne, and I worked with Ben on and off over the years, and it was always with ease and many smiles. When Courtney passed in 2010, Ben was there again, a quiet support. I will miss you. Blessings to your family.

Judy, Jason, Robin, Aunt Helen, Louise, and Jack - our hearts break for your loss.
Ben has always been a part of my life. As a small child, he was my big cousin Benny. Oh, how I looked up to him. As a teen, he was my cool cousin Ben with the Datsun 240Z and a vast knowledge of music. Oh, how I admired him. As an adult, I am pleased to say that my cousin Ben became my friend. Oh, how I loved him. I miss my friend. I am honoured that my husband Doug and I were able to spend a few of the last hours of his life visiting with him. Ben, you will always be in our hearts. We love you.
Love from Deb and Doug Hornby - Calgary, Alberta

Although I didn't know Ben real well, the few times we meet he was taking my picture at a gig in or around Regina. His photos were always great and I used a couple over the years. He was always the gentleman and one of the nicest people I have had the pleasure to meet. Thanks Ben RIP.

I met Ben first at the Regina Folk Festival, and then served with him on the Sask Music Board. We became friends, and he was one of my favorite people. He was a beautiful spirit. We had supper together the last time I was in for work, a month or so ago. We talked about that book we were going to do together. My heartfelt sympathies to his friends and family and life partner Judy. Judy, I love you, and when you are ready let me know, and I'll come and get you.

Ben was our first family photographer and he was my first book keeping client. I also served with him on the Sask Recording Industry Board of Directors. He was a great guy. I was shocked and saddened to hear of his passing. I put his pictures of my kids to music and it makes everyone weep who sees them. Thanks for being an awesome passionate person Ben. I will miss you.

I will miss Ben. Just recently he reached out to me on Facebook and I hadn't gotten back to him. Now I wish I would have. Ben "scooped me up" when I was still in Regina about a decade ago...he saw me perform on stage and then introduced himself to me and often suggested that I have him shoot my photos....when I finally did, he did a great job and just really appreciated me and made me feel comfortable.
Ben was/is a generous soul and a friend to the Regina community and beyond. He will be deeply missed.

I never had the privilege to meet Ben personally, but seem like I knew him just a little through conversations with his daughter Robin, her husband Julian, and their two children, Amelia and Xavier. From those talks, he was an amazing person, father, and grandfather. I know his legacy will live on just knowing he transferred his photography talents and gifts, and his love for family and friends, to Robin.

my sincere condolences to Ben's family. Ben was an amazing person, fun, selfless, full of energy and love for every moment. I met Ben at a photo workshop and am grateful that I got to be part of his artistic vision as a model. He was very talented and professional and nice. We stayed in touch over the Internet for years mostly talking about photo shoots, cats, dogs, and the environment. we saw eye to eye on many things. I saw Ben last year at Oxford Stomp at Stampede time in Calgary. He was photographing my favorite band that was playing and, knowing how much I loved them, got me free backstage passes to meet them. he truly was a thoughtful person. I'm glad I snapped a photo with him that day! I will miss him a lot.

My sincerest condolences to Ben's family and entire network of friends. He was a great photo-friend and mentor to many, always offering his thoughts, support, time, and wit. Photo club meetings, Facebook discussions, and just day to day things will not be the same. But I know that now he will forever be taking photos "of the stars" (and he always made his subjects FEEL like stars, even when he was not photographing people like Sir Paul) now that he is up there WITH them. Truly a good friend.

Finding you was a blessing. You opened your heart without any questions and brought closure to a search that had begun when I was a child. It was shocking to hear that you passed, it was only last year that I finally got to meet you. The last few days I have reflected and what I realized is that you lived your life to the fullest, you lived your dreams, inspired people that you met and filled their hearts with joy. You have inspired me and I will carry this gift with me. I will not say good bye, but thank you.

Oh Ben, I think it's finally beginning to sink in that I won't get to see your smiling face anymore. These past few days, it didn't really seem real that you weren't coming back. But now I'm struggling to keept the tears from streaming down my face.
Ben you have always been so wonderful to me, such a great listener, conversationalist, and most of all a friend. My heart goes out to your family, because I feel intense grief with this sudden loss, I can't even begin to relate to what they are going through.
I am glad we spoke the Wednesday before, even though it was over Facebook.
I can't even express my sorrow, you will be very missed.

Ben... Ben was one of the kindest most gentle and giving souls I have ever met, he always lit up when we would meet for coffee and talk each other's ears off about the next shoot we could do together. We were good friends. Ben helped me realize my own confidence, and guided me into the modelling industry, giving me incredible advice. I feel so privileged to have been able to have Ben in my life and work with him so closely. Every photo he has ever taken, I will always picture the man behind the lens. To Ben- you will be greatly missed by all your friends and family, you have touched so many peoples hearts and lives. Thank you always. Rest in peace sweet friend. <3
