MARTIN GRUDNITSKI 1920 – 2014 Martin Grudnitski, late of Regina, SK, passed away peacefully in the Pasqua Hospital on Saturday, January 18, 2014 just a few weeks before his 94th birthday. Predeceased by his beloved wife Ella, Martin is survived by his loving son Gary (Mary) of San Diego, CA; four grandchildren, Paul (Suzanne) of Torrence, CA, Cara Lankford of Orinda, CA, Tim Pilney of San Diego, CA and Vanessa Pilney of San Diego; four great-grandchildren, Kyle and Ryan Grudnitski and Katherine and Emma Lankford; and his niece Maureen Murray of Regina, SK. A long-time resident and businessman, after serving with the Royal Canadian Air Force medical corps on Ontario during WWII, Martin returned to Regina. He joined his father in the printing business, Peerless Printers, which he continued to operate after his father retired. Martin became involved in numerous community organizations, volunteering his time and expertise. A faithful Roughrider fan, in 1958 he was chairman of the SaskTel Saskatchewan Roughrider Plaza of Honour Dinner; he also was president of the junior football Dales at the time of their inception; Honorary Lifetime Director of Regina Exhibition Park, and president of the Wascana Country Club. Martin was an avid sports fan and sportsman. He shared his love of downhill skiing with his family and also by volunteering to give ski lessons to children. Martin also enjoyed fishing, hockey and hunting. Loving parents and grandparents, Martin and Ella spent as much time as possible with their son Gary and their grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They had a wide circle of treasured friends and always had time for their nieces and nephews. For the past few years, Martin resided at the Gardiner Point Care Home where he very much appreciated the kind and caring staff. His family is so thankful to Maria Parasram and staff for their care and attention. A Celebration of Life will take place in the summer of 2014.
