Obituary of Frank Ambrose Barabas

Frank died peacefully on the morning of Sunday, February 2, 2014, at the age of 89. Beloved husband to Erna (nee Kuffner) for 62 years; devoted father of David (Sherry), Robert (Joyce) and Anna Marie (Ivan); as well as cherished uncle/mentor of William (Sandy) Campbell and Jackie (John) Pavich. Frank is also survived by three of his eight siblings: Martha (d.Julius) Dorney, Edith (Bill) Bardutz, and Jean (Ernie) Meckling; and fondly remembered by his grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family. Frank had a life time passion for music playing the violin, mandolin, and banjo. As a young man, he sang opera and later, conducted choirs at St Stephen’s, St Anthony's and Holy Cross Parishes. Frank's commitment to his faith was evidenced by his care and concern for family and friends and his stewardship at each of the three parishes he attended. He charmed those around him with his gentlemanly manners, warm touch and warm humour, that endeared him to many - all of which will be greatly missed. We wish to extend our thanks to the Pasqua Hospital's 4A nursing care, and in particular to Dr. Datta, whose compassionate care was sincerely appreciated. Funeral Mass will be held at Little Flower R.C. Church, 420 College Avenue, Regina, SK on Thursday, February 6, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow the reception in the church hall. In lieu of flowers, donations in Frank's memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 1910 McIntyre Street, Regina, SK, S4P 2R3.
