Living to be 99 was a great attainment for Sister Millie because life is a wonderful gift. It is known that sequoia trees have a lifespan as long as 3000 years. If sequoias are designed to live so long, why not man? Our Heavenly Father and Creator cares for us and hates to see the suffering that is taking place worldwide. Hence, he promised that soon, in the new world, ‘he will wipe out every tear from our eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore.’ (1 Peter 5:7; Revelation 21:3, 4) Jesus also told us not to marvel at the splendid hope of seeing our loved ones again “For this is the will of my Father, that everyone that beholds the Son and exercises faith in him should have everlasting life, and I will resurrect him at the last day.” (John 6:40) Until then, while we are plagued with disquieting thoughts, Jehovah God invites us to rely on him to comfort us. In Isaiah 51:2 he said: "I myself am the One that is comforting you people.”
