Obituary of Sr. Emilie "Millie" Marie Knippshild

Sister Millie died at the Santa Maria Senior Citizens Home on Thursday, February 6, 2014 at the age of 99 years. Born at Lac Pelletier, Saskatchewan, Sister was predeceased by her father Frank and her mother Anna Hope; sisters Mary Anne and Anne Amos; brothers August, Lawrence, Richard, Tony and Clarence. Sister leaves to mourn her sister Mabel Goertz; many nieces and nephews including Judy Amos and Shirley Wiebe; dear friend Shirley Bonic; and the Sisters of Our Lady of the Missions, whom she joined in 1935. Sister spent twenty-two years of her life in T.B. sanatoria and then many years in active apostolates in both Saskatchewan and Manitoba. She is remembered for her profound spirituality and deep desire to serve. Funeral Mass will be held at the Santa Maria Senior Citizens Home Chapel, 4215 Regina Avenue, Regina on Monday, February 10, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Dominic Yuen presiding. Special thanks to the staff at Santa Maria for the care given to Sister Millie over the years.
