Obituary of Jack Oglesby

It is with sorrow that we announce the passing of Jack Oglesby on Monday, February 10, 2014. He was born on February 6, 1923 in Terrington Saint Clement, Norfolk, England and at the age of 35 eagerly accepted the call to ministry with the full support of his family. He immigrated to Canada in September 1959. He was predeceased by his wife, June Monna Oglesby; father and mother James and Mabel Oglesby; sister Grace; and brother Ray. Left to mourn his passing are daughter Jacqueline (Glenn) Kurmey, granddaughter Shelby Kurmey and her children Justin, Rachelle and Nathan, grandson Mark (Lori) Kurmey and their children Andrew and Khali; daughter Judith (John) Vallance, granddaughter Stacy Reagh (Jeff) Lynnes and their children Joseph and Abby, grandson Geoffrey (Kristine) Vallance and their children Jack and Aidan; son James (Beryl) Oglesby, granddaughter LeeAnn Fries and her children Mitchell and Marina, granddaughter Jessica (Nolan) Blondeau and their children Cassandra and Calan, and grandson Jason Oglesby (Jennifer) and their children Luka and Tyler Grace, and Jack’s adopted son John Oglesby. Jack is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and friends and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. Jack was a firm believer in God and treasured the time spent serving his people. Towards the end he said he was “satisfied that the Ministry was, for him, the best thing he could ever have done.” “I Believe” was a common statement from Dad and it was evident in his service to each and every one in need of his spiritual support.
