Obituary of Albert Carl Wolf

ALBERT CARL WOLF Albert passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 2, 2014. He was born on a farm near Broadview, SK, the youngest of nine, on February 3, 1931. He graduated from Broadview high school in June 1949, then left for work in Regina, which he found at Saskatchewan Government Telephone (SGT), just a couple of weeks later. Albert worked at SGT/SaskTel from July 1949 to August 1986, some 37 years. Though he started out as a lineman, he eventually moved to head office and retired as Manager, Pension and Benefits, a job he loved. Albert married Victoria on May 23, 1953 in Regina. He loved his family, his home and visits from his granddaughter, Gillian. Albert was active in Lakeview United Church serving as an elder and on various committees. Throughout his adult life, Al suffered many health challenges. To help others, he was the founding member of Regina Ostomy Chapter, a support group for Ostomates, a non-profit that continues today. He was also active with the SaskTel Benevolent Fund, SaskTel Pioneers and the United Way. Albert was predeceased by his parents, Adam and Barbara; and all eight of his siblings. He leaves behind his loving wife of 61 years, Victoria; daughter Sherry Wolf (Ian Bailey); granddaughter Gillian Bailey (Joshua Giambattista); as well as many nieces and nephews. Special thanks to the caregivers from Nurse Next Door. Memorial Service will be held at Lakeview United Church, 3200 McCallum Avenue, Regina, SK on Friday, March 7, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Al, may be made to the United Way Regina, 1440 Scarth Street, Regina, SK, S4R 2E9 or Lakeview United Church, 3200 McCallum Avenue, Regina, SK, S4S 0R9.
