Obituary of Sidney Kelly

Sidney Alan Kelly was born on March 22, 1952 in Moosomin Hospital. He was the youngest of ten children and was raised and attended school in Rocanville. At the young age of 15, he choose painting as his life long career and his brother-in-law Ed, was his mentor. In his younger years he loved travelling by motorbike, on various trips. He always enjoyed cooking and was especially gifted and known for his perogies, cabbage rolls and soups. He also loved fishing, being in nature and watching documentaries, and had a deep love for animals. If there was a deal to be made at a garage sale or in buying a vehicle, it gave him great delight, and often the small treasures he found he gave away to others. He was quick to make friends, easy to like, soft-hearted, compassionate, and one who took pride in the work he did. He will be remembered for his love for laughter and his humour. Sidney was a father who deeply loved his children, his family, and the times he could be with them. He had a deep faith in God. Sidney passed away with his children at his side on Sunday, March 9, 2014. He was predeceased by his parents, Lawrence and Rosalie; brother Cedric; and sister Paula Casemore. He is survived by his son Julian (Meagan); daughter Chelsey (Jason) Legendre; brothers, Hubert, Francis (Dianne), Ken (Cindy) and Darcy (Sheila); sisters, Hope (John) Skorlatowski, Joy Mason and Joan (Ed) Fritzsch; and numerous nieces and nephews.
