Sorry it's so late, but we have great memories of my BYU roommate Konrad and his girl friend Carla.
Konrad had some double knit plaid trousers that he gave me because Carla thought I needed them more than he did.

My sincere condolences to your family. I served on my mission in France the same time that Konrad served and knew him very well. He was a wonderful, kind man. We will all miss him greatly. I only wish that I could have seen him since my mission, but its now been over 40 years.

I am so sorry for your loss. I have so many fond childhood memories with the Yawney family. I have enjoyed reflecting on so many memories with Brother Yawney and the many ways he has impacted my life.
I can see him now eating all the buttery popcorn on the top while we are making it.
My scares are faded now form him curing my shingles when I was young:)
I love hearing about the hunting stories from my Dad & Uncle.
Such a wonderful man will hold a place in countless peoples hearts.
Thank-you. Till we meet again Brother Yawney.

I have many times used Konrad as an example. Konrad loved babies and had the ability to get them quiet and to go to sleep. He loved shopping for baby clothes. I remember many activities when he would be in the kitchen doing dishes. The world was a better place because of Konrad Yawney.

Dear Carla, it is with such a heavy heart I'm sending this message and a big hug. When I heard it brought tears to my eyes for your lose and you children. Such it is to have our fathers gone.
Brother Yawney(as Mom would always have us say) had such an easy smile and always had some advice for me. One such story was about when he decided to leave on his mission instead of running and possibly going to the Olympics. The details of the story are fuzzy but the intent and sacrifice he made, to make the that decision were clear to me. I often follow his advice when making my own decisions of spiritual over temporal choices. He really did make a lasting impression on my young mind.
As children we spent many hours in your home and I always felt a special spirit and love there. I believe you, and your husband and the love you shared for your family and the gospel were always present. I fondly remember him.
With Love,
Sheila LeAnne Rusnell(Hurd)

I am saddened to hear of his passing, I hope I have the right family here. I remember Konrad from a provincial track meet in Saskatoon when we were teenagers. I was flabbergasted how fast that boy could run. It was wonderful meeting people from all over Saskatchewan, but sadly we lost touch with so many of the folks who attended that meet. I would appreciate if someone could let me know if I have not made a mistake in posting here.
