Obituary of Robert Grainger Neild

ROBERT GRAINGER NEILD September 18, 1928 – June 1, 2014 Bob passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 1, 2014. He was predeceased by his daughter Cathy. Bob is survived by his loving wife Verna; son Robert (Anita); grandchildren, Daniel and Rebecca; sister Marion; niece Lynda (Larry) Cassie; and nephew David (Paula) Simpson and their families. He was born and raised in Winnipeg, MB, attending public and high school and was active with Sea Cadets growing up. He then trained with the Royal Canadian Navy Reserve. Bob worked for Trans Canada Airlines (Air Canada) and later Simpsons. He then moved to General Films / Kingsize Photo, where he was Advertising Manager for the majority of his career. Bob volunteered with St. Peter’s Anglican Church, later St. James Anglican Church, an officer with Navy League Cadets and Cub Master with Bowman District #42 Pack. When he retired, Bob opened his own graphic arts shop and did work for many businesses in Regina. He was always active and involved with the community. Bob’s lifelong devotion to Verna for 59 years was an inspiration to all of us. His love of family, service to his community, unwavering faith in God and strength of character will be missed by all. A Memorial Service will be held at St. James Anglican Church, 1105 Empress Street, Regina, SK on Wednesday, June 4, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Bob, may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 1920 McIntyre Street, Regina, SK, S4P 2R3, Santa Maria Senior Citizens Home, 4215 Regina Avenue, Regina, SK, S4S 0J5 or St. James Anglican Church, 1105 Empress Street, Regina, SK, S4T 5E4.
