Obituary of Eleanor Mary Gropp
ELEANOR MARY GROPP (née Corcoran)
Eleanor Mary Gropp died in Regina on Thursday, June 12, 2014. She was born in Vancouver, BC on May 6, 1920. Over her life, Eleanor created warm, welcoming and loving homes for her friends and family in Ottawa, Calgary, Trenton, Moose Jaw, London UK, Edmonton, Regina, Arizona US, Victoria and Buffalo Pound. After several years of failing health (but indomitable spirit), Eleanor is reunited with her husband and favourite bridge partner, Howard; her parents, Eugene Corcoran and Mary Belle McMillan; siblings, Jim, Len, Ed, and Jack Corcoran and Margaret Geluch; and many of her wide circle of extended family, friends, assorted admirers and the legions who had to pay up when they lost to her at crib. Mom is survived by her children, Larry (Louise), Patrick (Leslie), Michael (Terri) and Glenda (Grant); grandchildren, Gessica, Tyler, Matthew, Devin, Kelsey, Caitlin and Greg; and great-grandchildren, Camila and Joakim. We will miss the sight of your smile and the sound of your laugh for as long as we live. Many thanks and great appreciation to the wonderful staff at Extendicare Parkside. Anyone wishing to make a donation in memory of Eleanor, please choose a cause dear to your soul (but she did love her dogs). A Wake with hot cards, heated debates, good food and excellent Scotch will be held at her favourite place on a date to be determined. “Yes mom, we can go to the Lake now”.
