Obituary of James "Jim" William Short

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Jim at the young age of 61. Jim passed away peacefully with family by his side. He was predeceased by his father Don Short and his father and mother- in -law Bob and Doreen Garner. Left to cherish his memories are his wife Irene (Garner); son Jonas and daughter Jennifer; and the apple of his eye, granddaughter Isabelle. He will be missed dearly by his mother Margaret Short; sisters Donna (Udo) Errelat and daughter Brianna (Miguel Diaz); and Jackie Short. He will leave a void in the hearts of Irene’s family who Jim always thought of as his own brothers; Bryan (Judy) Waldner and children Marcy (James Lawson) and Jason (Denise) and children Mackenzie, Taylor and Hayley; Norm (Caroline) Garner and children Jody and son Carter, Erin and Reesa; Robbie (Cindy) Garner and children Christina (Grant Michelson), Justin and Jessica; Garnet (Deb Hagen) Garner and children Nikita (Nicholas) Iles, Kelsey (Matt Elliott) Garner; Jordan and Nicole Hagen; and Darrin Garner. Jim will also be missed by close cousin and best friend Brad (Colleen) Carey and children Erin (Dave) Charabin and children Kenley and Makena, and son Paul (Kristy Jacobs). Jim is also survived by numerous cousins. Jim was the proud owner of BLS Asphalt and served on numerous boards pertaining to the construction industry. Jim was also a Mason and a Shriner, participating in the Wa-Wa Drum Corp. He will forever be missed for his contagious laugh and his ability for storytelling. A Celebration of Jim’s life will be held at the Conexus Arts Centre, 200 Lakeshore Drive, Regina, SK.
