Obituary of Monica Theresa Hart
MONICA (MONA) THERESA HART (NEE AUMULLER)
Mona Hart, late of Regina SK, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 8, 2017 at the age of 83 years. She was predeceased by husband and best friend, Bob Hart; her parents Kaspar and Lena Aumuller; sister Sylvia Aumuller; nephews Billy and Don Karwandy; and brother-in-law Wendel Karwandy. Mona is survived by her sister Barb Karwandy; brother Bill Aumuller (Bernice); Bob’s children, David Hart (Sharon), Candi McLean (Ross) and George Hart (Shirley); grandchildren, Allan Hart, Heather Carpenter, Stuart McLean, Steven McLean, Lindsay Hart, Jenny Hart and Sean Hart; eight great-grandchildren; nieces Carol Farmer (Gord), Paula Duguid (Rob), Andrea Sottiaux (Gary), Carmel Hoyer (Kim), and Lana Aumuller; nephews Ken Karwandy (Kirsten), David Karwandy (Lisa); and several great-nephews and nieces.
Mona was born in Regina and lived here all her life, except for a short period when she worked in Ontario. She worked for many years as a legal assistant. She and her sister Sylvia (Toey) owned a cottage at Buena Vista Beach and welcomed family for many happy weekends and vacations, creating so many treasured memories. Auntie Mona and her sister, Auntie Toey, were incredibly generous with their time and love; they were the best aunts any kid could ever want.
Mona met Bob Hart and married him in 1978. Bob and his family welcomed Mona into their extended family and together they shared 20 wonderful, happy years. Mona and Bob loved their cottage time at Katepwa Lake where they and many of Bob’s family built lasting cottage memories. They travelled often to the west coast and farther afield. Sadly, Bob passed away in 1998; Mona missed and loved him for the rest of her life.
It was important for Mona to live an independent life and she did so to the very end, in the home that she and Bob shared in Regina. She struggled with respiratory disease and the difficulties of aging with a courage that we were all so proud of. She was always an important part of family gatherings and we will forever feel her absence. Mona will be sadly missed by all who loved and knew her. A private family gathering will be held at a later date.
