Grant Drysdale was intelligent, kind and generous. He had a keen sense of humour and enjoyed travelling over the years with his wife Marjorie. Grant was a friend, as well as an uncle, to his nieces and nephews. He was my mother's last remaining brother.
I did not know Uncle Grant quite as well as my other cousins had, as we lived in Ontario mostly, although Grant and Marjorie came to visit us several times throughout the years.
In October 2004, Mom (Marion Elizabeth Drysdale Trenholm) and I flew out to Regina for a week-long visit. Uncle Grant squired us around and we got to visit with Uncle Bob and all the cousins. It was a very special visit for us.
Mom told both my cousin Brian and I that from the time she was a little girl she knew she would not leave this earth while her parents and four brothers were alive. She wanted to be there for all of them and she has been. Mom is 97 and in good health, although her short term memory is not what it used to be. These days she says she thinks a lot about her four brothers and parents when they were living on the farm outside of Spring Valley.
