Obituary of Edgar Peter Gasper

On Tuesday, May 29, 2018 Ed Gasper, late of Regina, SK and formerly a long time resident of Glentworth, SK, passed away peacefully at the Pasqua Hospital, at the age of 80 years. He was the son of Anton and Agnes Gasper. Ed was born in Humboldt, SK on January 4, 1938 and grew up on the family farm outside Bruno, SK. He attended St. Quinton School and later Muenster College. While working in the Royal Bank in North Battleford, SK, he met his wife to be, Dorothy Yaki and were married on June 18, 1960. They moved to Pierceland, SK, where Ed worked as an accountant for the local improvement district. On November 13, 1965, they moved to Glentworth, SK, where they raised their five children and were involved in many community activities. Ed worked as an RM Administrator and owned a general insurance agency until his retirement day. After retirement, Ed and Dorothy moved to Assiniboia, SK and later Moose Jaw, SK. In 2015, Ed moved to Regina and has since resided in Bethel Manor. He was predeceased by his parents, Anton and Agnes Gasper; wife Dorothy; son Brad; brothers, Gerald, Laverne, and Ray Gasper; and sister Marjorie. Left to mourn are Ed’s kids, Debbie (Tom) Monea of Rockglen, SK, Laura Gasper of Assiniboia, SK, Murray Gasper of Regina, SK, and Jennifer Gasper of Regina, SK; two grandchildren, Lindsey and Jamie Monea; one brother Ron (Elsie) Gasper of Marquis, SK; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the doctors and staff of the Pasqua Hospital and the staff at Bethel Manor for all their care. Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Trinity Parish, 5020 Sherwood Drive, Regina, SK on Friday, June 1, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Ron Andree officiating. Private family interment will be set at a later date in Assiniboia, SK. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Ed may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, 919B Albert Street, Regina, SK S4R 2P6.
