I am so deeply saddened by the loss within the Kashuba family. The family is full of such loving, caring, and genuinely good people, and it's impossible to understand his loss in such a tragic way. But I do want to say regardless Nick is so so deeply loved by your family, friends, and acquittances and without a doubt, in my mind, he would always know of the endless love that you feel towards him. I remember meeting Nick for the first time in Kindergarten, when he came to say hi to Michael during one of our first recesses. From that moment on, I always thought that he was a great older brother. The song Children of the Light, St. Matthew's school song, comes to mind when I think about Nick. The lyrics, "We are children, children of the light, We are shining, in the darkness of the night, Hope for this world, Joy through all the land, Touch the heart of everyone, take everybody's hand." I believe that Nick embodied the lyrics to this song, and although he is no longer with us, his light continues to eternally shine bright.
Micheal, you are truly one of the most caring and generous people that I had the chance to grow up with. I know Nick is proud of the person that you have become thus far, and who you will be.
To Jacki and Daniel, I can't imagine the grief that you are suffering through, but remember that your son was a light to everyone around him, and his memory will stay with us forever.
My family and myself are thinking of you, and wishing you moments of comfort and peace through this difficult time.
