Obituary of Penny Marie Pedersen
Penny Marie Pedersen, late of Milestone, Saskatchewan passed away on Thursday, August 23, at the age of 70 after a short battle with cancer. Penny was predeceased by her parents, Jim and Jean; mother and father-in-law, Dorothy and George Renwick. She is survived by her loving husband, Rex, son, Lance (Shana), daughter, Lex (Joel) Beckel; grandchildren: Seanna, Brody and Jake of Regina.; sister, Karen of Regina, brother and sister in-law, Glenn and Cheryl Renwick of Turner Valley, Alberta; and many nieces, nephews and close cousins. Penny completed high school in Milestone, further schooling in Regina. She worked in Weyburn for the Weyburn Review, then the Department of Agriculture. In 1966 she was named Weyburn’s Crocus Queen. Penny loved horses, owned several, and was an excellent equestrian. She taught figure skating in towns around Weyburn and later became member of the Regina synchronized skating team which competed in Calgary. Penny studied communications and enjoyed her role with the Royal Saskatchewan Museum in that capacity. She studied voice for many years and after retiring devoted much of her time to her passion for music. Penny taught singing in Milestone and Regina. She formed a group, “Magic”, which performed in Regina and area, and directed Milestone United Church musicals. She was an Eastern Star member in Milestone and Regina, and served as Worthy Matron in these Chapters. Funeral Service will be held at the Milestone Memorial Centre, Industrial Dr, Milestone, SK, Saturday, September 1, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. with Celebrant Judy Beck. Interment at a later date.
