Dear Islay and Sandra,
I am left with a heavy heart having learnt of Bernie's death. He stood up for his country in WWII, he stood up for his town as Mayor, and best of all he stood up for his family. God Bless you both, and Mel and Sharon.

Islay and Sandra, I am very sorry for the loss of your beloved Bernie. He and Islay were very close friends with my parents and I have fond memories of both of them over the years. Bernie was always a kind, friendly and thoughtful person. He always made time for everyone and gave back to his community in so many ways, including his many years as mayor of Kamsack, his longterm involvement with St Stephen's church and with the Legion. He made the community a better place and we are all very indebted to him for his many years of service. We have all lost a dear friend and we are thinking of you at this difficult time. Leanne, Dan, Rod and Kim Schindler.
