Obituary of Janet Elizabeth Cheney

Janet passed away peacefully with family by her side on Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at the age of 62 years. She was predeceased by her parents, Henry and Emily; brother-in-law Lyle Alspach; and nephew Matthew Wood. Janet is survived by her husband Pat; children, Christine (James) Olson, Nicole Baran, and Michael (Erin) Chamberlin and Pat’s children, Candace (Clint) and Michael (Melissa); grandchildren, Maximus, Quinn, Jagger, Eleanor, Cole, Owen, and Leah; siblings, Steve (Jan), Alvin (MaryAnn), Debbie Alspach, Virginia (Cliff) Wood, Rosie (Rick) Anderson, Ted (Candace), and Vern (Gayle); as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Janet was a strong mother, a steadfast nurse, and someone who always put others ahead of herself. She will be missed by her siblings, who will always share warm memories of growing up on the farm and later raising their kids together. Janet’s children, who will always remember their mother’s patience, understanding, and love. She was a golden example to follow as her children raise her grandchildren. Finally her husband Pat and family, who shared many loving adventures and memories with Janet. Visitation for family and friends will be held at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina, SK on Saturday, December 8, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at Resurrection Parish, 3155 Windsor Park Road, Regina, SK on Monday, December 10, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. Interment to follow in Regina Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Janet may be made to Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada, Saskatchewan Division, 150 Albert Street, Regina, SK S4R 2N2.
