CASEY, Maitias (Matt) Diarmuid
Matt, late of Regina, SK, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 14, 2019 at the age of 75 years. He was predeceased by parents Dan and Chrissy; and sister Siún. Matt is survived by his wife Eilísh; daughter Abigail (Kelly) of Lumsden; grandsons Reid and Ellis Mieyette; daughter Sinéad; nieces, Christina, Katie, Lucy and Niamh; and nephews, Martin and Paul. Born in Mitchelstown, Co. Cork, Ireland. He graduated from the medical school of the University College Cork at age 23. Matt then practiced medicine in West Cork, Norquay, SK and for almost forty years in Regina, SK. Anyone who knew Matt, knew his love for his family, for his patients and for fast cars and driving. The family would like to thank Dr. C. Geddes, Dr. N. Alibhai, and the nurses who cared for him during his final days. A Gathering to honour Matt will be held at Memories Restaurant, 1717 Victoria Avenue, Regina, SK, on Saturday, March 30, 2019 from 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. Family and friends so wishing, may make memorial donations in Matt’s name, to the Mother and Baby Unit 2D, of the Regina General Hospital, 1440 14th Avenue, Regina, SK, S4P 0W5 or the Palliative Care Unit, Unit 3A, Pasqua Hospital, 4101 Dewdney Avenue, Regina, SK, S4T 1A5.
