Mr. Makohoniuk was a long time neighbor and very dear friend to our parents, especially our Dad. Now Bill and Dad are once again "visiting over the fence".

To the Makohoniuk a Family,
Please accept my condolences on the passing of Mr. Mak. He was a kind and gentle man. I played in the Central orchestra and enjoyed doing the musical. Mr. Mak was always very patient with all the students and the productions were very well done.

To the family of Mr Makohoniuk
He was a special teacher at Central when I attended. I was in everything musical he had to offer. Through his guidance and support of all his students, the music program excelled. I had the pleasure of reconnecting with him at the Pasqua hospital when my nursing students took care of him. He remembered much about Central and I really think he remembered me. He always had that smile on his face and chatted with everyone who took the time to spend with him. He was a special soul and influence to many students he taught. I am so grateful I had the opportunity to meet up again with him. Sympathies to you all as you remember a special man.

To family and friends of William Makohoniuk, I am sorry for your loss. I just wanted you to know that Mr. Mak was the most important teacher I ever had. He truly saved me from drifting and losing my way in highschool when family concerns made me rebellious and sad. He re-taught me the math I wasn't taught in previous years, nurtured my musical and creative interest and talent and encouraged me to dig in and be brave. He was my SRC mentor and a person of such integrity and honesty that it made me want to pull up my socks and make him proud. I have been away from Saskatchewan for many years - but used to run into him now and again when I visited and he never forgot my name and always asked if I was still singing. Amazing, given how many kids he must have taught and touched through all those years. Certainly shows how teaching was so much more than a just a job for him. RIP Mr. Mak - you will be remembered.

My sincere condolences to the Makohoniuk family, and friends. Mr. Mak was my algebra teacher and conducted us in 'Choristers' at Central Collegiate. Without question he was the kindest, warmest, most motivating and supportive teacher I ever had the good fortune to encounter. Thanks Mr. Mak. You will be remembered well.
